In Reidsville, North Carolina, Kendre Harrison, a rising high school junior, boasts an exceptionally impressive athletic record and has recently achieved another remarkable milestone.
Harrison, towering at 6 feet 7 inches and weighing 243 pounds, stands out as a dual-sport standout in basketball and football.
For the Class of 2026, 247Sports ranks Harrison as a four-star basketball prospect, placing him 25th nationwide and second in North Carolina. In football, he garners five-star recognition from 247Sports and ranks as the sixth-best prospect in his class, specializing as a tight end.
Despite multiple football scholarship offers from prestigious institutions, a prominent local university has expressed interest in Harrison’s talents across both sports.
Already offered a football scholarship by University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s head coach Mack Brown, Harrison has now also received a basketball scholarship offer from head coach Hubert Davis during his visit for UNC’s June football camp, as reported by 247Sports.
Over the past year, Harrison’s acclaim has soared, thanks in part to leading Reidsville to state championships in both basketball and football.
These achievements were acknowledged by North Carolina State Representatives recently.
On the basketball court, Harrison averaged an impressive 19.4 points, 15.1 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game, according to MaxPreps, culminating in a thrilling 78-77 overtime victory against Farmville Central High School, where he scored 19 points, secured 17 rebounds, and blocked five shots.
He gained online fame after a powerful slam dunk shattered a backboard during a game against Morehead High School in February.
His football prowess is equally notable, having helped Reidsville clinch a football state championship. During the 2023-24 season, he played as both tight end and defensive end for the champion Rams, amassing notable statistics.
Offensively, Harrison recorded 62 catches, 940 receiving yards, and 16 touchdowns, according to MaxPreps. Defensively, he achieved 76 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, nine sacks, and 30 quarterback pressures.
In the championship game against Clinton High School, Harrison’s performance included five catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-18 victory for the Rams, along with six tackles and a sack.
His athletic prowess has attracted scholarship offers from numerous prominent universities for football:
